API Developer (Apigee / Kong)

1 · Your tasks

• Write OpenAPI specs and set up gateway proxies in Apigee or Kong
• Implement OAuth2, rate limiting, quotas, and transformation policies
• Build CI-driven proxy deployment with environment promotion
• Help teams get started on the developer portal, and plan how API versions are handled

Project: API gateway enablement and policy standardisation for internal consumers.

3 · Work papers we accept

USC, GC, EAD, OPT, STEM OPT accepted.

USC:

U.S. citizen.

GC:

green card holder (a lawful permanent resident of the U.S.).

EAD:

short for Employment Authorization Document. This USCIS card lets you take a job in the U.S.

OPT:

Optional Practical Training. F-1 students use it to gain job experience in their field after school.

STEM OPT:

added OPT time for STEM grads (science, tech, engineering, math). Only E-Verify employers can offer it.

4 · Words to know

Contract:

the job runs for a planned period. Here that period is 12 months or more.

W2:

you are on the payroll, and tax is taken from each paycheck.

C2C:

short for corp-to-corp. Your own company sends the invoice and receives the payment.

Remote:

no office days. You work from home in the U.S.

401(k):

a retirement savings plan. "With match" means the employer adds money too.

PTO:

paid time off for rest, travel or personal days.

FSA/HSA:

accounts that let you set aside pre-tax money for health costs.
